This Privacy Policy applies to the entirety of Hipty.com. Herein and hereafter Hipty.com will be referred to as “HIPTY”.
Information We Collect
HIPTY collects personal information when you register, use HIPTY products or services, visit HIPTY pages and when you enter promotions. Upon registration with HIPTY we request and collect your name, email address, age and other information that you provide, such as your interests. HIPTY uses this information to authenticate its users as well as enhance our services to you. Additionally, your information facilitates member searches, and enriches networking capabilities between members. Your information also customizes the advertising content that you see, and allows HIPTY to understand who its users are in order to always improve our site and your experience with us. Ultimately, this information is what allows HIPTY to run, and you to have the richest experience as a member of our website.
At times HIPTY or a third party may hold a promotion, sweepstakes or contest. In order to participate, information such as home address and/or phone number may be requested in order to participate. We may transfer your information to third parties from whom you have specifically and explicitly requested information. Upon request of such information it will always be clear whose privacy policy will apply.
From time to time we will make announcements to our members via site Quick Notes and/or the email address that you enter at HIPTY registration. It is your responsibility to keep this email address up to date. HIPTY will absolutely not share your email address with, or sell, your email address to any third party or parties. We hate spammers just as much as you do. Our software is designed so that your email address will not and can not be available to any other member, either within or without your personal network. All email correspondence sent to you through our site shall be processed through our filter, which does not reveal what your email address is to the message sender. It is always your choice to reply to emails or share your email address with anyone. There is only way to secure any member’s email address: that member must give it to you.
When you invite new members to use HIPTY site and services, make current members a part of your network or send messages (instant or otherwise) through our network, we collect and maintain the information associated with those messages.
HIPTY also collects limited, non-personally identifying information your browser makes available, such as IP address, browser type, browser language, date and time of your click, and one or more cookies that may uniquely identify your browser. This non-personally identifying information may be shared with third parties to provide more customized services and more relevant advertising to members.
Information Sharing or Transfer of Information
Your public information will be posted on your About Me page, linked to from your personal homepage. This information will be available to the public, and posted according to the preferences set in your account.
When you send messages (Quick Notes or email) through the HIPTY network, in order to maintain the privacy of our members, only your User ID and home site address will be made available to the recipient of the message. Your email address will not be shown, and you will not know the email address of your recipient. It is your choice, as well as the choice of your email recipient, whether or not any email addresses will be revealed.
HIPTY does not sell, rent, share or otherwise make available your personally identifying information to any third parties unless required by law or in a good faith belief that such access preservation or disclosure is reasonably necessary to comply with a legal process, enforce HIPTY Terms Of Use or protect the rights, property or personal safety of HIPTY, its members and/or the public.
We reserve the right to transfer your personal information in the event of a transfer of ownership of HIPTY or Hipty, Inc., such as in the case of an acquisition by or a merger with another company.
Cookies
HIPTY uses cookies in order to keep track of members' preferences and login status, as well as ensure that advertisements are not repeated and are customized to users' preferences. HIPTY does not use cookies to identify in any way personally identifiable information. We use cookies to improve the quality of our service by, as examples, tracking user trends or allowing members to automatically log in after an initial session. Although you may turn off the use of cookies on your browser, much of HIPTY site and services will be rendered inaccessible as a result.
HIPTY allows advertisers to set and access their cookies on your computer, and these cookies are subject to the cookie-setting advertiser's privacy policy, not this one.

HIPTY contains links to other sites. HIPTY is in no way responsible for the content, privacy practices or information gathering practices of these external sites. HIPTY’s Privacy Policy will not apply to any third party websites or pages and all users should review the respective privacy polices for these sites.
Public Areas
Please be aware that any personally identifying information such as last names, phone numbers or addresses that you post to public areas of HIPTY will be viewable by anyone, including non-members and/or solicitors, and this may in turn allow third parties to send you unsolicited communications.
Security
We at HIPTY understand that security is integral to maintaining members’ privacy, therefore we take appropriate security measures to prevent unauthorized access to, alteration, deletion, destruction or disclosure of member account information. Employee access to member data is restricted to the absolute minimum necessary in order to perform their duties, and as much as possible no personally identifiable information is given access to. Please note that while HIPTY can not guarantee the security of member account information, great care is taken to ensure the safety and security of our database.
Third Party Advertising
HIPTY does not control or affect advertisements placed on HIPTY by third parties. Our advertising partners’ advertisements are governed by their respective company privacy policies, which includes the use of cookies. Please note that advertiser cookies are generally for the purpose of keeping track of where their ads were clicked and to recognize each time they send your computer an online ad.

HIPTY is committed to providing you with the best internet service of its kind. We are fully aware that this is not possible without your satisfaction with us. We know that your privacy is important to you, and we do all that we can to earn and maintain your trust. We at HIPTY wish there were a way to keep every Member and User completely anonymous at all times, while maintaining the same level of functionality and customized service, but as of writing this is unworkable. The bare amount of general, non-personally identifying information that we collect simply makes our site customized to work around you.
